During the presentation, we’ll show you how to bring your lessons closer to the reality of Generation Y teenagers, who don’t know the world B.G. (Before Google), for whom a course book, even a gripping one, is not enough. We’ll also show you in what ways contemporary course books reflect the teens’ world and meet their needs. The need to get ready for the school-leaving exam, the need for regular feedback, learner autonomy and personalization of the learning process. You’ll learn how to take advantage of the technology at your disposal in order to involve and motivate your students as well as achieve your teaching goals. We’ll also provide some tips for preparation of technology-supported and course book-based lessons which will appeal to gimnazjum students and meet their expectations.
Marek Darewski has been in the English language teaching profession for more than 15 years now. Throughout all these years he has taught most age groups and levels. He also worked for ELT publishers as a representative, consultant, speaker and wrote quite a few methodology articles for ELT journals. At the moment he is teaching FCE, CAE, Matura preparation and in-company courses.
Other fields of his professional activities include translation and running business trainings.
